about the candidate
I’m Domonic — a proud son of an immigrant father from Nigeria and a proud Black mother from Baltimore. I wasn’t born into wealth or influence — I was raised right here in Woodlawn, shaped by faith, family, and the belief that you serve others before you serve yourself.
I am a product of Woodlawn High School. Today, I work at Southwest Academy, where I see firsthand the challenges our young people face — the social disparities, the gaps in opportunity, the way potential can be lost when systems fail families. You learn a lot when you spend every day in a school hallway. You see struggle, strength, resilience, and hope all in one moment. And you recognize how deeply our community deserves leaders who don’t just talk about problems — but understand them and live among them.
I’m running because District 44B deserves a future where hard work pays off, where schools are safe, where families can trust government, and where opportunity reaches every block — not just a select few. We honor what made Maryland great by protecting what works and fixing what’s broken. That means accountability, dignity in work, real career pathways for young adults, and safer neighborhoods rooted in shared responsibility.
I have seen the reality of our community up close — not from an office, but from the schools, churches, and streets where life happens. And I step forward not as a politician, but as a neighbor, a mentor, and someone committed to one mission:
Make life better for someone else.
This campaign isn’t about status or headlines. It’s about service, belonging, and building a Maryland where every child — no matter their zip code — can rise.
